Tile Laying Game, Family Game

  • Theme:  Since time began, the Dragon and the Phoenix have guarded the intertwining paths of life.  These two powerful beings share the noble task of overseeing the many roads that lead to divine wisdom.
  • Complexity of Rules:  Low
  • Setup Time:  Low
  • Direct Conflict: Medium
  • Replay Value:  Medium
  • Game Mechanics:  This is a quick abstract tile laying game in which players try to eliminate each others' marker stone from the game board.
  • Turn Summery:
    1.  Play a path tile:  Chose one tile from the three tiles in hand and place it on the game board.  The tile must join the edge where the player's maker sits.
    2.  Move The Markers:
      • Move any player makers that now have a new path in front of them.  The maker continues to follow path until hitting a new tile edge.
      • If the path leads the marker to the edge of the game board then the player is eliminated.  Any remaining tiles that player has is shuffled into the draw pile.
    3. Draw a tile.  If there are no tiles available then player takes the dragon tile.  The player with the dragon tile gets to draw first in any future turn if new tiles become available from eliminated players.
  • Game End/Victory:   When only one player marker remains on the game board that player wins.
