How It Plays

  • Game Mechanics:  This is a card drafting, set collection, economic engine building game. Players take turns selecting gem tokens which can then be used to draft cards from the center.  Each card has a gemstone that can also be used to draft future cards and some award prestige points.  Patron tiles also award points and are acquired by having the required gem cards shown on the tile.
  • Turn Summary:  Players take one of the following actions:
    1.  Take 3 gem tokens of different colors.
      • A Maximum of 10 gem tokens are allowed per player.  Players must discard down to 10 at the end of their turn.
    2.  Take 2 gem tokens of the same color.
      • This action can only be accomplished if there are 4 or more gem tokens available.
    3. Reserve 1 card and take 1 gold tokens.
      • Take a card from the center to keep for future purchase.  Gold tokens are wild and can be used in place of any gem.
      • Players may have a maximum of3 cards reserved at any given time.
    4. Purchase 1 face-up card from the center or a previously reserved card and play it face up in player area.
      • Pay it's gem cost with gem tokens and the permanent gems on previously played cards.
    • (Note: Nobles can be claimed at any time during a players turn when a player has required gems on their played cards.)
  • End Game:  Game ends when at least 1 player has 15 prestige points and the current round is completed.
  • Victory:  The player with the most prestige points wins.
