  • Theme:  In he small East Frisian village of Arle on the verge of the 18th century, your family must take care of numerous tasks:  dehydrate the moor, plow the farmland, and breed the animals.  Improving your craftsmanship in the village and constructing the appropriate buildings will be invaluable.  Turn by turn you will assign various tasks to the members of your family while keeping an eye open for the changing seasons.

How It Plays

  • Game Mechanics:  This is a worker placement, farm building game.  Players take turns placing each of their 4 workers on the main board's action spaces.  The various actions allow players to expand their individual farms by draining marches, plowing fields or adding animals and buildings.  The buildings give players resources and unique abilities.  Vehicles can also be built and used to transport goods to and from nearby villages. 
  • Turn Summary:
    1. Preparations:  At the beginning of each half year, place the workers on the 4 worker spaces with the first player's on top.
    2. Work Phase:  Players take turns placing a worker on an action spaces for that season.   The amount of times you can take the selected action may be determined by the position on the corresponding tool track.
    3. Inventory Phase:  After each half year, players take stock of their belongings.
      • November Inventory Phase:
        1. Empty Vehicles - Place Timber, Bricks, and Clothing from Vehicles into personal supply.  Place the Travel Destination Tiles from Vehicles on the Experience Track.
        2. Milking - Receive 1/2/3 food for 2/5/7 Sheep and 1/2/3 food for 1/3/5 Cows.
        3. Harvest - Gain one resource for each field or forest on farm.
        4. Sustenance - Pay 3 food and 2 Peat
      • May Inventory Phase:
        1. Empty Vehicles - Place Timber, Bricks, and Clothing from Vehicles into personal supply.  Place the Travel Destination Tiles from Vehicles on the Experience Track.
        2. Baby Animals - In each Stall or Stable with 2,3 or 5 Animals of the same type gain 1 animal of that type.  In each Stable with exactly 4 animals of the same type gain 2 animals of that type.
        3. Sheering - Receive 1/2/3 wool for 1/4/6 sheep.
        4. Sustenance - Pay 3 Food.
  • End Game:  Game ends after 9 half year rounds.
  • Victory:  Points are awarded for animals, goods, materials, clothing, buildings, equipment, tools, travel experience and development of the farm board.  The player with the most victory points wins.
