How It Plays

  • Game Mechanics:  This is a resource management, hand management, area control game.  Players start with a hand of 5 cards and a few resources.  Cards are played to a personal board after paying money and resources. The card's special effect is then triggered along with any other cards of that type already played.  That card's corresponding building is then placed on the board.
  • Turn Summery: Take 1 of the following actions:
    1. Construct a building
      • Pay money and/or resources to put a card into play, triggering its special action as well as the actions of cards of that type already in play.
      • Place a building of that card's type on the board.
      • If this causes a barbarian village to be surrounded, resolve a barbarian attack.
    2. Make an offering to the gods
      •  Discard any amount of cards and perform a special god action of one of the discarded cards.
      •  Draw back up to 5 cards.
  • End Game:  Game ends if all temples have been constructed or all barbarian villages have been attacked.
  • Victory:  The player with the most victory points acquired from civil buildings, temples, trading and barbarian attacks wins.
