How It Plays

  • Game Mechanics:  This is a worker placement game with dice rolling, set collection and area control.  Each player rolls 3 dice that are then used as workers to be placed on various action spaces.
  • Round Summary:
    1. Each player rolls 3 dice - In turn order, place a die of lower value than any previously placed die onto one of the following action tiles and take the action:
      • Expand Action - Place a hut from player board on an island region adjacent to one already placed that shows a die equal to or less than the worker die value (optionally score fish tile.)
      • Woman Action - Take a woman tile (less than or equal to die) and place it on player board.
      • Man Action - Take a man tile (less than or equal to die) and place it on player board.
      • Helper Action - Take one of the following Actions:
        1. Trade Items, take victory points or shift huts on player board as shown on upper left corner of player board.
        2. Tattooing - Shift 1 man tile down per die point and move marker up on tattoo status track for each tattoo.
        3. Collect Shells - Shift 1 woman down per die point and take the number of shells from supply.
      • Temple Action - Add a priest to the same die value on the temple track shifting any others down as needed.
      • Build Action - Build one building tile equal to or less than the die value in place of two adjacent building materials on the player board.  Score victory points depending on round and take a fire bonus.
      • Fishing Action - Score 2 victory points.
    2. Use man and woman actions. In player order use 1 (or multiple if identical) man and woman tile in either order for their special action.
    3. Asses the right half of the game board:
      • Score tattoo status track and reset turn order with lowest score going last.
      • Score temple track giving the player with the most priests on the track the top God tile.
      • Jewelry Tiles - In turn order, players optionally buy 1 jewelry tile from that round's column.
      • Task Tiles - In turn order, players optionally complete 1 task tile scoring victory points.
  • End Game:  Game ends at the end of the 6th round.
  • Victory:  Victory points are given at game end for God tiles, fish tiles adjacent to huts,  and jewelry tiles.  Bonus completion points are given for completing all tasks, building in all regions, all building tiles built, 6 jewelry tiles claimed, and 12 man/woman tiles.  The player with the most victory points wins.
